Richard J. Wirkner, 89, passed away peacefully on Feb. 20, 2020. Richard was born in Medina on Sept. 15, 1930, and spent his life enjoying Medina. He is survived by his loving wife, Theresa (Dangelo) 87, and two daughters, Kristine Bradway of Seville and Karen (Phil) Cupa of Indianaplis, IN. He is also survived by a sister, Mary Edith Gault of Ashland, Ohio and four grandchildren, Jessica Koenig (Seville), Jacob Koenig (Wadsworth), Michael Bradway (Weymouth), Stefanie Bradway (Lodi), Derek Hunt (Indianapolis), and Daniel Hunt (Japan), as well as five great grandchildren.
Richard worked for General Motors in Brookpark for over 30 years, then went on to work over 10 years for Medina Supply Company. He enjoyed working to provide for his family. He also enjoyed keeping a well-groomed yard, and in his younger days he was a fan of car racing. He also enjoyed home projects and improvements. Richard enjoyed a keen with and had a great sense of humor, never failing to instill laughter in those around him.
He was a lifelong member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, and was devoted to being a good Christian. Surely he is in paradise with the Lord.
Mass will be held at St. Francis Xavier church, Medina on Saturday Feb. 29 @ 11:00 am.
