William Walker, known affectionately as Bill, PaPa, or Uncle Will, brought light and love to those around him throughout his 78 years. He passed away on the morning of May 12, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and joy. Born on August 20, 1945, in Akron, Ohio, William was the beloved child of Mary and William Buss Walker. He graduated from Ellet High School and went on to proudly earn his degree from The Ohio State University. William found fulfillment in a career in computer programming, dedicating himself to his work until his retirement from Sherwin Williams in 2012. William's warm smile and compassionate spirit touched the lives of many. He had an abiding passion for sports, particularly enjoying watching his children and grandchildren participate. William was also an active member of St. Ambrose Parish, and served as a chaperone for the Brunswick High School marching band. To know William was to be embraced by his love and positivity. His memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
William was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judith Walker, and his son, Kevin Walker. He is survived by his children, Craig Walker and Ann Marie (Steve) Swearingen; his grandchildren, Izaak Gilbert, Simon Gilbert, Elias Swearingen; and his great-grandson, Benjamin.
In the hearts of those who loved him, William's legacy of love and joy will endure. Though he may no longer be with us, the impact of his kindness will continue to resonate for years to come. Rest in peace, William Walker. Your spirit will live on in the memories of those whose lives you touched so deeply.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Ambrose Church, 929 Pearl Road, Brunswick, on Tuesday, May 21 at 10:00 am.
