Ray A. Fortune, age 56, passed away Friday, November 3. He suffered from Crohn’s Disease for many years. Ray loved to fish and golf and was an avid collector of many things. He was a great guy with a heart of gold. To know him was to love him. Ray was an electrician, and he worked maintenance at the local Senior Center, transporting many ladies to their medical appointments and to the beauty shop.
Ray is survived by his beloved mother, Lillian Waite; step-father, Scott Waite; step-mother, Carol Fortune; brother, Danny Miracle (Lisa); step-siblings, Tami Stone, Thomas Lee Heishman (Heather), Matthew Heishman (Amy), Heather Deighton (Scott), Scott Waite (Christine), Mark Waite (Stacy), Shanna Waite (Tim); nieces, Danielle Miracle and Miranda Miracle; and numerous other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Ray was preceded in death by his biological father, Cordis Bunch Jr.; adoptive father, Michael C. Fortune; brother, Randy Fortune; grandparents, Tibor and Lillian Kovach, Cordis & Della Bunch and Clemit and Marjorie Fortune; and his beloved German Shepherd, Brandy.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, November 25 at 1:00 pm at Victory Baptist Church, 8343 Harris Road, Lodi, with Pastor Joe Williams officiating. A luncheon will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to them to help offset final expenses.
