The world lost a very special man, some called him “Superman”, when Bob Payne passed on January 18, 2021. He had a friendly smile and was always the first to offer a helping hand. He had a passion for golfing that never diminished even as his condition worsened. He retired from LTV and U.S. Cotton after his health declined but that couldn’t stop his golf game. Bob served proudly in the U.S. Army from 1966-1969.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Sue; sons, Scott, Mike (Laura), Matt (Shawnda), daughter Amber Conway (Dan); 8 grandchildren, Matthew, Mitchell, Mariah, Michael, Lydia, Fiona, Ethan, and Irelynn; and his cherished sister, Penni Vacca (Tom).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert, Sr. and Jeanne; and his brother John (Dorothy).
A socially distanced service will be held at Brunswick United Methodist Church, 1395 Pearl Rd., Brunswick, on Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 12:00 pm. Private family inurnment with military honors will follow at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Medina County SPCA.
