Nila Jean Woods, born on June 16, 1939, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, passed peacefully from this world on January 11, 2025, in North Olmsted, Ohio. She was a woman of remarkable fortitude and intellect, revered as both a loving mother and devoted grandmother. Nila exemplified the very essence of familial devotion, holding her loved ones in the highest regard and fostering a nurturing environment that ensured her family remained steadfast and united.
Throughout her life, Nila was known not just for her protective nature but also for her brilliant mind that sparkled with curiosity and wisdom. An avid reader, she found solace and inspiration within the pages of countless books, continuously expanding her knowledge and understanding of the world around her. Her logical approach to life served as a guiding light for her children and grandchildren; she kept them on the straight and narrow, her serene and thoughtful demeanor providing a foundation upon which they could build their lives.
Nila shared a profound partnership with her husband, Arthur, for an impressive 64 years. This union was a testament to a love that was both enduring and steadfast, built on mutual respect and companionship. Their bond flourished through the joys and challenges of life, as together they navigated its many twists and turns shoulder to shoulder.
Her legacy lives on through her beloved children, Karen Turner and David Woods, who carry forward the values and lessons imparted by their remarkable mother. The warmth of her spirit extends into the hearts of her cherished grandchildren, Jonathan G. Turner, Katherine L. Turner, and Alexandra Woods, who will forever remember her not only as a guiding force but also as a source of unconditional love and support.
Nila was preceded in death by her dear parents, Benjamin and Anita Yurt, and her brothers, George and Roger Yurt. Their memories, woven into the fabric of her life, contributed to the strength and resilience that defined her character.
