Mr. Michael Wayne Williams was born on July 6, 1954, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to the late Thelma Jackson and Leroy Williams. He peacefully departed this life on the evening of January 30, 2025, in Medina, Ohio.
Known affectionately as Big Mike and Coonfoot, Michael was cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
As a young adult, he excelled in athletics, earning numerous awards and trophies in track, baseball, basketball, football, bowling, and other sports. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends at the park, where his presence was always felt through his humor and lively personality. Above all, he cherished quality time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Michael graduated from Glenville High School in 1972, then went to enlist in the U.S. Army. He honorably served on active duty from 1974 to 1977, demonstrating unwavering dedication and strength throughout his service. Beyond his military career, Michael was an extremely fun, stylish and humorous man. He found joy in life's simple pleasures such as singing, dancing, listening to music, and making everyone around him laugh. His favorite game was dominoes, but he also enjoyed playing cards and horseshoes. When he wasn't watching basketball or football, he'd tune to his favorite talk show Karamo.
Michael was preceded in death by his sister Cynthia Thomas, both of his parents, and his dear uncle, Howard Jackson whom he was extremely fond of. Michael's legacy lives on through his daughters, Lakeya Williams and Betty Williams, as well as his sons, Tierre Clay and Wayne Langsdale, who will forever treasure his love, support, and guidance. He is also lovingly remembered by his sister, Valerie Davis; his nephews, Delmar Thomas and Raynard Davis: his nieces, Lanita Davis and Shayna Davis; his longtime partner, Vivian Langsdale; and his high school sweetheart and lifelong friend, Lojuanah Dunn. He also leaves behind a host of beloved relatives and friends.
