Maria Terezia Nagy (nee Kovacs), 80 from Brunswick Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday. February 1, 2025.
Maria was born in Győr, Hungary on August 28. 1944 to Maria Kovács (nee Marx) and Károly Kovacs. She had two younger brothers, Támas and Károly. She met and married her first husband, József (Joseph)Csizmadia in Győr Hungary.
She came to the United States in 1964.
She was a wonderful cook of many traditional hungarian dishes and played the piano beautifully. She stayed home to raise her 3 children. Joseph John, Charles Thomas and Cynthia Maria.
Maria suddenly became a widow at the age of 39 when Joseph passed in 1983. She had to learn to navigate life without her husband.
Many years later, Maria had run into an old family friend, Erno Nagy, who in recent years became a widower. They had much in common, being from neighboring towns in Hungary and in social circles here in the U.S.
Maria and Erno married in 1993. Maria was blessed with three adult step-children, Marian, Attila and Judy.
Maria and Erno enjoyed traveling to many European countries and would travel yearly back to Hungary to visit family and loved ones. Maria was once again widowed when she lost Erno in 2011. They had 18 beautiful years together.
Maria never met a stranger. She was a very loving person and would often call you "sweetheart" or "darling" and say "I love you honey."
Besides her children, Maria most of all cherished her 12 grandchildren and 2 great granddaughters.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers and her husbands.
She is survived by and will be greatly missed by her children, Joseph (Tracy) , Charles (Staci), Cynthia, Attila, Marian Stewart, and Judy Pflaum (Richard); grandchildren, Selena, Miranda, Adam, Sydney, Jared, Karchi, Patrick (Rebecca), Hailey, Stephen, Stephanie, Joey and Ryan; and great grand daughters, Charlotte and Rosalyn.

There will be a celebration of life service at a later date.
