Joan Jennings

Joan Jennings passed peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of Monday, September 19, 2022. She was surrounded by family and friends in her final days and was not alone.

Joan is survived by her ex-husband and devoted friend, Carl Hicks; her children, John Jennings (Lauren), Shannon Chestnut (Nicholas), Nichole Ralston (Carson), April Knack (Chris), Christopher Hicks, and Michael Kersten; grandchildren, Stephanie, Joseph, Emily, Jayson, Jasmine, Ashlyn, Amanda, Skylar, Kayleigh, Leo, and Devon;  brother, Phil Fresenda; and so many other countless family and friends.

Joan was a devoted mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend and was happiest when she was taking care of those that she loved. Joan reveled in the years she and Carl ran their business side-by-side, and loved interacting with the customers, some of whom turned into wonderful long-time friends. She was an amazing cook and avid gardener and looked forward to the daffodils blooming every spring. Her smile and laugh could light up a room and her feisty personality left an impression on everyone she met.

Joan is reunited in Heaven with so many people that she loved and missed dearly, most notably her father, John; mother, Mary; and her younger brother, Joe.

Her love will always be a part of us, and we know she is happy and whole again. In that, we find our comfort.

We love her and will miss her forever.

Mass will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, October 15th, 2022 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 606 E. Washington St., Medina.
