Chorzelewski, Rita

Rita Chorzelewski (Doman) was born to George and Helen (Szczepanski) Doman on September 20, 1925 and passed away on May 25, 2019.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; brother, Ervin; sister, Phyllis Kaczmarek; and great-grandson, Charles Grant.

Rita attended Central Catholic High School and Stazenberger Business School.  Rita worked at the former Lasalle’s Department Store in the Accounting Department.  She also owned and operated EC’s Coffee Shop before semi-retiring, and then worked alongside Harry as a grounds-keeper at the Sister of Notre Dame in Whitehouse.  Rita was a long time member of St. Joseph’s in Maumee, Ohio, prior to moving to Brunswick, Ohio.  Rita enjoyed her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as well as cooking, gardening, puzzles and her pets.  Rita is survived by her sons, Larry (Sharon) and Richard (Janet); grandchildren, Carrie Brown (Richard), Chad (Shanon), Clarisa Grant (Andrew), Caris Chorzelewski, and Candice Chorzelewski (Jeremy); as well as eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at St. Ambrose Church, 929 Pearl Road, Brunswick on Friday, May 31 from 11:00 until noon, with Mass immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Compassionate Care Hospice in Akron, Ohio.
