Benita Sorgi

Benita G Sorgi (née Potts), age 67, a beacon of love and compassion, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2024. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Benita was not only a devoted mother and grandmother but also a cherished member of her community.

For 14 years, Benita dedicated herself to serving others as an employee at Goodwill, where her kindness touched countless lives. Her warm smile and gentle spirit made her a beloved figure among her colleagues and customers alike.

Benita's love extended beyond humans. She had a special affinity for animals, nurturing a deep bond with them throughout her life. Her compassion knew no bounds, and she found joy in caring for creatures big and small.

Though she may no longer be with us in person, Benita's legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love she so freely gave.

Benita is survived by her husband, Donald Sammons; children, Matthew (Tamitha) Sorgi, Nicco Sorgi, and James (Nikki) Sorgi; step-daughters, Danielle Sammons and Kristina Sammons; grandchildren, Ayden, Avi, Damien and Paige Sorgi, and Riley and Brody Moss; sisters, Connie (Harry) Franks, Cheryl (Christopher) Ryland and Carol (Tony) Karhol; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 Benita was preceded in death by her beloved first husband, Marcel Sorgi,  and sister, Theresa Hudak.

A celebration of life will take place Friday, March 8th at 6:00 pm. at Teamz restaurant, 6611 Eastland Road, Middleburg Heights.
