Wayne R. Angstrom

Wayne R. Angstrom, 82, of North Royalton, OH, passed away at his home, surrounded by family, on Monday, November 22, following a brief illness. A native of Chicago, IL, Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Angstrom; his mother, Dorothy Kilroe; and his step-father, Gene Kilroe. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sandra (Weber) Angstrom; his children, Mark Angstrom, Boca Raton, FL; Carl (Anne) Angstrom, Naples, FL;  David (Jen) Angstrom, Arvada, CO; and Kristina (David) Neumann, Broadview Heights, OH; ten grandchildren, Sofia and Mark (Mark); Colin and Catherine (Carl/Anne); Audrey and Evan (David/Jen); and Jack, Henry, Sam, and Lily (Kristina/David); and one great-grandchild, Echo (Audrey).

Wayne was an honorable veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a 55+ year member of the Masonic Fraternity. He dedicated years of service and leadership to the Shriners organization, serving as the 2015 Potentate of the Al Koran Shrine (OH), Commander of Al Koran-Legion of Honor, Commander of Great Lakes Shrine Association-Legion of Honor, 4th Lieutenant Commander of the International Association of the Legion of Honor, a member of Palace No.765 Lodge, Boca-Delray (FL) Lodge No.171, and a KCCH member of the Lake Worth (FL) Scottish Rite. A respected leader in the printing industry, Wayne was the Chairman and owner of the AngstromGroup. In addition to a lifetime of service, Wayne was an active and faithful member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Brecksville, OH, and St. Gregory’s Episcopal Church in Boca Raton, FL. Wayne will be remembered by those who knew him for his kindness, graciousness, humor, leadership, service, faith, humility, and strength. Wayne’s love for and commitment to his family, his extended family, and his friends endures.

A memorial service will be held Friday, December 10, at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 9549 Highland Dr, Brecksville, OH, by the Rev. Stephanie Pace. Public visitation begins at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Masonic service at 11:30 a.m. and the funeral service immediately thereafter.  A private burial service will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

Those attending, please plan to join the family in the St Matthews fellowship room for a light lunch and gathering after the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church and/or Al Koran Shrine-Legion of Honor.
