After a short illness, Louane W. Kowal of Medina, Ohio, born March 27, 1923 to Fred C. Williams and Miriam (nee Weber) Williams, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2016 and has rejoined her husband of over 60 years, John G. Kowal. She was “the captain of the ship” for her family and will be deeply missed by her four children and their families: Lynne (John) Gibbs, Jan (Fred) Graff, John W. Kowal, and Tom (Francie) Kowal. She was a role model and inspiration for her seven grandchildren: Jonathan (Lori) Gibbs, Susan Borders, Kari (Matt) DiDonato, Wyatt (Katheryn) Graff, Drew Kowal, Lindseymarie (David) Szeto, Katie Kowal, and seven great-grandchildren. Louane was the eldest sister to Judy Goulder (decd) and Susan Davis. She was a proud graduate of Miami University and worked for many years as an administrative secretary with the Medina City Schools. She had a pioneer spirit and a huge heart. She always gave more than she took. Her life revolved around her love of animals as she cared for countless horses, dogs, and cats as well as helped with Project R.I.D.E. and Medina 4-H. She was a passionate Indians-Cavs-Browns-Buckeyes fan as well. A celebration of her life will take place in the summer of 2017 on the family farm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the Medina County SPCA (8790 Guilford Road, Seville, OH 44273).
